Wipfli becomes a Candidate C3PAO

Wipfli LLP, a top 20 national accounting and consulting firm, announced that it has been cleared by the CMMC Accreditation Body (CMMC-AB) and is now a Candidate C3PAO.

After expanding its cybersecurity rules last year, the Department of Defense (DoD) is now requiring businesses to achieve Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) in order to be awarded new contracts. The CMMC-AB oversees qualified CMMC assessors that can deliver assessments to businesses looking to achieve CMMC.

Currently, Wipfli is a certified Registered Provider Organization (RPO), which means the firm can advise DoD suppliers on how to prepare for their CMMC assessment and achieve the certification. Once Wipfli completes its C3PAO candidacy, the firm can begin performing CMMC assessments.
