Kiowa Casino
Modernizing financial operations with a tailored approach
Kiowa Casino has two active casinos and a third on the way, making it necessary to improve its financial operations. Faced with outdated and disjointed systems, it turned to Wipfli for a customized plan to streamline operations, enhance visibility and reduce inefficiencies.

The Challenge
Wipfli identified several improvement opportunities related to Kiowa’s financial processes:
- Independent operations across casinos led to fragmented systems and limited reporting capabilities.
- Managing too many accounts created redundancies and inefficiencies in financial insights.
- Manual processes caused time-consuming workflows and frequent data entry errors.
- There was a lack of automation in purchase orders and check-signing processes.
The Solution
Wipfli’s implemented the firm’s tailored “golden image” instance, a customizable Sage Intacct environment created just for tribal gaming enterprises. This repeatable, cost-effective framework accelerated the project timeline for the implementation of Sage Intacct. Key features included industry-specific templates, streamlined implementation, and best practices based on Wipfli’s extensive experience within tribal gaming.
Before implementing Sage Intacct with Wipfli, we struggled to consolidate our finances across locations. Now, we can see the big picture while still being able to drill down into individual departments or locations. It’s a game-changer for how we operate every day.

The results
Wipfli helped transform Kiowa Casino’s financial operations in four key areas: unified financial systems, streamlined chart of accounts, modernized reporting and process automation. Beyond streamlining the chart of accounts, Sage Intacct drastically reduced the number of accounts, which simplified financial analysis. Automated dashboards also replaced manual reports, which now provide real-time data insights and accurate reporting. In addition, Wipfli’s tailored solution introduced electronic purchase orders and digital check-signing. This approach automated thousands of monthly transactions and helped further improve efficiency for all users, from department managers to check approvers.
